I am a 36 year old and I had the Mirena in for over 2 years. I had it taken out on May 10th 2009 because of 2 periods a month. My doctor seemed to think it was not the IUD. While I had the Mirena in, I had dizziness, headaches, fatigue, more bleeding then not and moodiness. I lost my sex drive and excitability during sex. I was tired all the time and generally not happy. Since I have had it removed I have not had a period ( going on 2 months ). I have noticed over the last 2 months that I am slowly becoming my self again. It is like a cloud has been lifted from my brain. My sex drive is UP and my house is slowly getting back in order. I am hoping that I will start to loose some weight, but not going to depend on it being all the Mirena. I have to get back to the gym. I know my body is not fully adjusted to the Mirena being out because I have not had my period yet and I have no idea how long it will take. I called my OB's office, they did not seem to concerned about the lack of period. They told me they could put me on some meds to bring it on. I told them I would pass. I would rather my body take care of it. If anyone has any input of what it is like after months after having it removed, please let me know.

timbows,

I had my Mirena taken out on May 22nd and still haven't had a period either. I have the slight cramping as if it's coming but have had that for weeks now and still nothing. I wish it would come already since I'm crabbier than heck! It's like my body is still out of whack from that evil IUD but I'm hoping it gets straightened out soon. I gained weight while I had the Mirena ( 8# in less than a month) and still have the bloated stomach. I was told lemon water is great at assising in weight loss. So I've been doing that for about a week now and have been taking off .3 of a pound every day. So if I can lose a pound every 3 days or so, I'll take it. It'll take a while to get that 8# off but it's better than not getting rid of it at all.
