Oh wow ladies. Thank you all so much, really, for speaking out about this horrible birth control. Everyone but my husband thinks I'm crazy for associating the Mirena with all of these symptoms. I got mine in December '08 after having my daughter in October. Within a month I had lost my breast milk. I bled for about 3 months straight, plus severe cramping (I screamed that I wished I was in transitional labor again and I gave birth without drugs), and all the other things you ladies have said. I thought there was something horrible wrong with me. I can't have sex because it's too painful for me. My entire genital area has been irritated and swollen since I got the Mirena. Since I have sensitive skin, I just thought (at first) it was some sort of skin allergy to detergent or something. I've since switched everything: underwear, detergent, soap, toilet paper, etc. and it hasn't helped. Now I've finally started finding out about the negative side effects of the Mirena and I know it's causing all of these problems. My doctor and everyone else I've talked to about this has told me that there was no way that the Mirena could cause these problems, but I know my body better than them. Thank you again, ladies.
