I just found this website and I am so glad I did. I now don't feel like I am losing my mind. I have had the Mirena for a little over a year now. I got it in when my youngest was 8 weeks old. I gained 30lbs, but I also went on Lyrica for Fibromyalgia, so I wasn't sure if that was the cause. I since then have gone off the Lyrica and have lost some weight, but I am still having lower back pain, pelvic pain, and am still not feeling well. I am making an appointment to have it out and am getting my tubes tide!!!!( I have 4 girls 13,8,3 & 1-so I am done!!) Thanks for everyone sharing!!!
I think you should realize that you had a baby 2 months AGO! ITS NOT THE MIRENA ITS YOU AND YOUR BODY RE-ADJUSTING TO THE NON PREGNANCY STATE!!! you had hormones for two....now your down to one....you have hormone overload because of it. i am assuming its your first child as well. what you are experiencing is completely normal and NOT a reaction to the mirena. In fact, it has lower hormone levels than ANY OTHER hormonal birth control out there (ie the pill, nuva ring, et) i would do some research about post pregnancy hormone levels you would not believe some of the stuff that woman do for up to six months after they precious ones are born! please for your sake give it a try. it does take time to get used to.....but its well worth it. I am a med student at the U of M in minnesota. i just finished a course on pregnancy ( going for OB.) so please give it a try the acne and the crying and the crabbiness and the bleeding are from the birth and post birth sytmptoms every woman gets!
