Good that you will stop the statin and the MANY side effects. The drs. and the drug co's are doing a SCAM on the anti-cholesterol drugs . . . .it is all about $$ . . . . your mind/body needs cholesterol to function properly. The red rice yeast is just as BAD as the statins.

Red yeast rice can cause all the symptoms that you have gotten from simvastatin. Reasonable diet and exercise then stay away from synthetic drug pushers gives most humanoids a good life style and expectancy.

I have been on this simvastatin for about 2.5 months...After reading all these posts yesterday I did not take my rx and do not plan to anymore. My last rx for high cholestrol my doc had me on vytorin and I thought I was in pain then and had troubles getting up in the mid of the night, had to hold on to the furniture just to walk for the first few steps it was horrible being in pain and hurting all over all day long..suffered with that rx for 2 yrs...doctor said my aches and pains were not from the vytorin...b.s. it wasn't as soon as i stopped taking it, all my body aches went away...And like an idiot i have been suffering and thought i was losing my mind..each week something else would hurt me...i have these jolts of pain feels as though electricity shots all over my body at different times all day long....made me almost forget all the body and muscle aches or my ankle just gives out sometimes and i can even walk...i am at work complaining all the time and coworkers think i am nuts. i felt great today...maybe a few times throughout the day i felt some pain but what a difference just missing one dose ...this simvastatin has been 10 times worse than the vytorin..I will not go on any rx again..doctors are crazy and shame on them if they really know what these rx do to people and do not inform us or better yet tell us other things are wrong its not the rx they gave us and then they can treat us for new problems and make more money off of us...what a shame..thanks to all of you whom had left a message here..saved me from alot more pain i could of been in..i was ready to see a neurologist thought i had nerve damage or something.
