Try a "tea tree" shampoo or Nioxin (generic: Nutri-Ox from Sally Beauty Supply) shampoo AND conditioner. I have a similar condition, and these products have helped me.
I did a progestrogen (sp?) shot a few years back and it took many months for my body to get back into its "groove" (It gave me really bad migraines and body odor - ick!). So be patient while your body adjusts back to normal. I feel your pain. I have heard good stuff about the Tea Tree oils too.
I went to a dermatologist because I have never had this problem. She said to use the blue Head and Shoulders bottle shampoo (Intensive Treatment) and only that for a month, no products, nothing else (I did lots of updos). Then use Free & Clear Shampoo and Conditioner (you can get it at Walgreens). I did this for a couple months and slowly brought back hair products. It's hard but it cleared it up. I found that every now and then it will come back so I use the Head and Shoulders once a week to combat it. I am so relieved to find out that other people have this problem and it may be because of Mirena. I am going to have it removed.
I had Mirena put in March of 09 and I also got psoriasis all over my body and I never had psoriasis and no one in my family has it. I've been thinking about having this removed.
