Hi, Amber, I've been on 200mgs of lamictal for almost 2 years and I have also experienced the sinus congestion that you mentioned. It was really bad when I first started taking the drug. I never snored in my whole life(I'm 40) and then started snoring like CRAZY!! My poor husband! It did get a little better, but I still deal with the congestion. I started doing an allergy nasal spray and that does seem to help, so maybe you could give it a try. I also deal with the lack of motivation thing. My family has just had to learn to live with a house that's not spotless and laundry taking forever to get done. For me, though, these things are much easier to deal with than the alternative of going off the meds. Lamictal has made a huge difference for me in dealing with the BIpolar II. I won't even consider going off of it. The major side effect that has plagued me is short term memory loss. But it has become sort of a joke between my husband and me. He knows not to expect me to remember things. He'll text me repeatedly if I need to remember something. If I don't write it down, it doesn't get done!! I hope you'll give it more time. The side effects to decrease over time. Good luck!!
Thanks for the advice. I talked to my doc yesterday and we are just going to lower the dose to 50mg a day. : )
