Statins can cause MANY side effects. I suggest that you stop taking this POISON before you have more problems . . . . . in realty, your mind/body needs choleserol to function properly. . . . .Don't let your dr. to con you. Anti-cholesterol drugs are big $$ business.

Tingling in the extemities is reported with use of statins, however you bring up low body temp. The most likely cause of low body temperature is low thyroid function, which also can cause tingling in arms and hands. Low thyroid function can cause elevations in cholesterol and triglycerides. Many times hypothyroidism gets overlooked and cholesterol lowering meds are prescribed. Those who have an underlying metabolic problem such as hypothyroidism are much more likely to suffer muscle pain and weakness from statins.

Two weeks after taking the replacement Arrow - Simva (10mg) I started getting a burning sensation in the bottom right side of my hand under my little finger. Then about a week later experienced numbness in the fingers of both hands and now have pain up both forearms and tenderness near my elbows. Stopped taking the drug four nights ago so are waiting to see if the symptons go away.
Initially thought I was getting carpal tunnel syndrome but it seems too conincidental.

Hi, It is interesting to read how modern day medications are impacting on individuals. You mention a drop in body temperature.I notice that I do not sweat as easily as I used to although I notice that I pass a lot more urine.I currently swim an hour most days (approx.2.5 km) and unless I have loaded up with a high carb intake, I will not sweat. Anaerobic exercises do make me sweat.I have also taken to using an electric blanket at night to keep me warm.As I am taking four different medicines I am not sure which particular one would be responsible,Simvastaton is one of them. I am a 58 y.o and have had a stent approx. 2 years.
Take care,be happy..........cheers Jon
