Now I am personally freaking out. I went to see my gyn this morning because I have had terrible anxiety and depression (I suffer from anxiety and depression anyway). I was hoping that it was due to a hormonal imbalance. Well..we didn't do any tests. She put me on the nuvaring to balance out any hormones...to give me a constant flow of hormones. I am freaking out. I don't feel bad right now. I want this to help not hinder me. Does anyone have anything good to say about it? I can't take any more anxiety or depression.

I've been on it for about 3 months... I haven't gained any weight ( if anything I lost it) and I don't seem to have any horrible side effects. The only real problem I have is some discomfort it almost feels like I got kicked down there. Hopefully that will go away once my body is more used to it.

I've been on it for 4 years. I've never really had any of the problems all these woman are complaining of. WELL- I am bitchy- but no more bitchy than I was using other birthcontrol (pill etc..), I wish I could find something to combat that! AND I do have NO sex drive. That's what I was looking for when I found this site. I have not had any cramping problems, I did have some spotting between periods when my doc changed the way I take it. I now leave it in for 30 out for 5- this is a new doc that recommended this, and it seems to be working fine, but it took about 3 months to get regulated. I'm surprised to hear all the problems these women have, I guess I'm lucky!

I have been off Birth Control for 2.5 months. I too suffer with anxiety and had previously gone through a severe depression. I was doing ok before I got off birth control but lately I have been experiencing severe anxiety symptoms, I will be fine one hour and feel really depressed the next, the on the verge of panic, and later I am irritated and don't even have anything to be irritated at and then there is the inbetween where I don't really feel content but not depressed, almost an emotionally blunted feeling which worries me too. I had been on birth control since I was sixteen and am 27 now, so this is the first time my body has to regulate hormones by itself. I am worried that I won't feel good again. My doctor put me back on my previous SSRI so maybe that will help. Hopefully getting on the nuvaring will get you feeling better! Anxiety and Depression are terrible feelings and I believe that when you get off birth control the temporary hormonal imbalance irritates these symptoms. I say temporary in an attempt to be optomistic, does anyone know how long it takes to balance back out???
