Hi. I just had a laproscopy done 3 weeks ago for endometriosis. I am 26 yrs old and have been dealing with this pain for almost 2 yrs now and it is the worst pain in my entire life. My doctor is now suggesting Lupron because even after the laproscopy the endometriosis was level 4 and had bonded to my intestines and literally trapped my ovaries and uterus against the lining of my stomach. The pain was a 15 to say the least and the past 3 mos it had landed me in the E.R. Finally the docs figured it out. I started my period 2 weeks after the surgery and the pain was still pretty bad. An 8. Now I am seriously considering Lupron. My health is on the line and this pain is not right. At this point I am considering a hysterectomy if Lupron does not work. Any help suggestions please? Monday I follow up with the Dr.

I highly recommend you to read up on Lupron first, my Gyn gave it to me because of my heavy bleeding, the shot was only supposed to last 1 month, I ended having to have a hysterectomy anyway to the day it would have been a month since I had the shot, 4 months later and the surgery done, I am still having the horrible side effects of that medicine (which are menopausal effects. I recommend the hysterectomy.

I also have extremely bad endo with ovarian cysts that land me in the er when they burst. When they did my surgery, they had discovered that my intestines were fused to my uteris and that I had lesions all over the place. I was put on Lupron after my surgery for 6 months. It was the biggest mistake I have ever made. I had a tone of side effects. It almost caused a divorce from my husband, because since then, I have suffered from depression and anxiety. With counseling I have been doing way better, and so is my marriage. First of all, I found a new doctor who swears against the shots! Scary! Second, she put me on a low hormone birth control that helps a lot with the symptoms of endo. It's called Loestrine. It's amazing, really light periods, less cysts, and less pain.
I'm 26 too, and I would hate to have a hysterectomy at my age. I know I will most likely have to someday, but not yet! All I can say is hang in there! Prayer and yoga has done wonders for me. Good luck with everything. My biggest suggestion would be to way your options. The depression and anxiety was so not worth the shots. One I was done with the shots the endo came right back with a vengeance anyway.
