I have had my Mirena out for 3 weeks and have had no side effects. I had the Mirena inserted w/o ever having any children because I cannot take any other form of birth control. I did not have any of the side effects anyone has mentioned on this page, and I am sorry for those of you who had such a terrible time! The only side effect I had the entire 2 years with my Mirena was a decrease in my sex drive. Like Mirena claims, I had irregular periods for awhile, and then I had little to no period at all for months at a time.
For anyone reading these posting, please search out others where women had positive experiences! With any medical procedure, there are always risks. After I am done trying to have children, I will use Mirena again.
