We are all thinkers...we know about the possible side effects...and we wouldn't take anything if we were afraid of the possible side effects. My own personal experience was that I thought the "sickness" was causing the problems and my own dr. and the emergency room dr. both said that it was not the medicine and that I was having anxiety...so I kept taking it only to suffer more and get sicker...I was even tested for Lymphoma since I had swollen lymph nodes....and was scheduled for a biopsy....if it weren't for this site and reading everyone's stories...who like me believed the doctors....I would probably be even sicker....please don't judge us, we are only doing what the professionals tell us.....
I don't understand why you are on this site...and please don't judge us or think we are ignorant!! Two doctors I went to told me that I wasn't having side effects of the drug and to keep taking it. We take medicine because we are sick, so when we get sicker we often attibute that to the sickness and not the thing that is supposed to make us feel better. Also, I have taken sulfer drugs before with no reaction...but as we age our chemistry must change because this time taking this medicine I hade severe side effects!! I went against the doctors orders and stopped taking it on my own!! In all honesty, if we were afraid of the side effects of most medication, we wouldn't take anything. This particular medicine just isn't worth the risks involved. I would deal with a UTI any day rather than suffer the damage this drug has done!! There are more mild medications out there that work just as good and I would have preferred that much more!!
I seriously hope and pray that YOU are not MY doctor! You Scare Me! Are you seriously so stupid and self absorbed that Possibly you don't realize that all of us regular LAY people, as ignorant as you might think us all, put our trust in Doctors, (hopefully more are unlike yourself), who spend years and years of education and training. If you really believe that all we really need is to use the internet, to be able to make these decisions ourselves and not be able to trust that our doctors know more than we do, you should find another profession. You obviously didn't enter this profession to help others. How about you send out a letter, signed by yourself, stating your belief along with the response that you have posted on here, out to all of your patients and see how fast they run!!! It's most probable that 99%, or more, of your patients have access to the internet. With your take on it, what do they possibly need you for? Again, I hope You are NOT My Doctor!
I told my doctor of the side effects I was having, and was told to keep using it, along with my rescue inhaler. I DONT HAVE ASMA OR AN INHALER AT THAT!! Sounds like some of you DOCTORS are the IGNORANT ones. Were the smart ones for DROPPING you.....
