LADIES.... PLEASE HELP!!! I had my Mirena removed 6 weeks ago. Unlike most, I didn't bleed right away. It took me 3 weeks before I bleed and it wasn't heavy. I felt better knowing it was out of me but still was EXTREMELY TIRED, brain fogged, depressed. (The only side effects which have diminished were the irritability, greasy hair/skin, and acne.) It's now been 6 weeks since it was removed and for the past 2 weeks I've been experiencing horrific anxiety and panic attacks. I'm afraid to leave the house... can't focus. Wake up anxious. Don't want to go anywhere or do anything. I'm also depressed about this. I'm still very very very tired all the time. AND THE MENSTRUAL MIGRAINES ARE STILL HERE. IS THIS ANXIETY THE "CRASH"??? Can it happen so late? My body seems to be "behind" the norm by about 3 weeks. So really this is about the 2-3 week mark past my first withdrawal bleed. I'M SOOOOOOOOO SCARED

Ameigh - Not sure of your age. I am a little older than most who have posted here, I was 42 when I got the Mirena and had it for 5 months. Two days after removal, I had 2 days of spotting and that was it. The brain fog, headaches and palpitations continued and then I started having hot flashes....I went into premature menopause, literally within a couple of months, and that was that. I am now on HRT for a few years until I reach a more "normal" menopause age. You may need to have your hormones checked. If I were you, I would call your Dr. They checked my FSH, which was sky high, and my E2, which was almost nil....and prior to the Mirena I was not even peri-menopausal...obviously, my Dr and I thought I still needed birth control!!! Good luck to you....but please do call your Dr.

I had my Mirena removed on March of 2009, the same happen to me to it is called the "Mirena Crash" I think you may be going through it. It went away after a month or so. I went through some strange pre-period symptoms bleeding gums for two months, plus nausea, now I am going through a marathon period of two weeks so far no heavy bleeding just spotting I've read it takes 4 to 6 months to get better. Hope this helps

I have had it out for almost a year. I gained 30 pounds with two weeks of it being removed. I still look pregnant. I can't seem to get the weight off. I really believe it is a side effect from the removal. I am also thinking of getting a new one to get my body back.

anxiety and panic attacks can come at any time in your life, trigger or sometimes no trigger, they are controllable and are not of concern. Sometimes rushes of hormones can trigger panic attacks so maybe this is why you are suddenly getting them. It doesnt mean there is anything physically wrong with you when you have a panic attack but it is a long challenging road to overcome the anxiety. Doctors can prescribe anti anxiety medication (tafil) that you can just take small amounts to take away the edge but read about it and get information, there is a great e-book called panic away i downloaded that helped me heaps, dont let anxiety control your life, you are stronger than that!!!

I had a MIrena inserted last September. I have gained 26 lbs. I didn't realize it was from Mirena. I also have to take Zoloft for anxiety/depression since I have had it inserted. I take Zantac for stomach bloating/issues. I had it removed 2 weeks ago and feel SOOOO hormonal, NAUSEATED. irritable and just overall crappy. I do however see the light at the end of the tunnel. I will be loosing this 26 lbs and going back off of the Zoloft now that I know what caused these changes. It's best to stay free of these things that cause us to change and not be ourselves.
