You are not crazy. Cramping in the leg muscles is a common complaint with any statin drug. Its not the pressure changes in the plane, and since you are a flight attendant, you are on your feet all day and depend on your muscles to get thru a very long work day.
There is a huge financial incentive on statin drugs. About $30 Billion per year in worldwide sales. Then there are the fees for the doctor visits to address a "cholesterol problem". Of course the Labs make off like bandits selling cholesterol tests. Network television gets a significant portion of their bread and butter from Big pharma who spends millions in TV advertising of statin drugs. A bunch of people have their livelyhood rooted in the sales of statins, including your doctor, whom could be a stockholder in all of this.
Physicians are in the cholesterol lowering business. Its their livelyhood. Don't expect unbiased objective views from your physician concerning these drugs. They almost always downplay side effects.
I do hope that you stop taking this dangerous drug. Any statins can cause MANY side effects. Yes, the drs. and the drug co's are doing a SCAM on the anti-cholesterol drugs . . . .big $$ business. In reality, your mind/body needs cholesterol to function properly. Don't let your dr. to con you.
