Hi All, Hope everyone is holding up well. I've been on warfarin for year and a half now and like most of you i find it has changed my life a lot. I'm only 22 and i hate taken warfarin. I have gained weight and feel depressed. The thing that scares me the most is that i was sick at the weekend and i found there was blood in my sick!!! Has this ever happened to anyone before as it scared me a little.

I found these postings interesting..I am 51, had aortic valve replacment/mechanical valve 12/2004; have been on Warfarin since (5 mg day). I have been pretty stable w/ my INR's with occassional spikes which I attribute to warmer summer weather and maybe some over indulging w/ my diet. A few weeks of monitoring and I am back within range and stable again. My weight, tho always have been heavy...is same as pre surgery, so I haven't experienced weight gain...now I understand gas/bloating, but this has only started in past year..which could also be due to premenopause!.....I know it took me a good year to finally feel "normal" again, but hey..major open heart surgery..people tend to "baby" themselves..and yes, I need iron supplements to replace the blood loss from frequent testing. heavy periods don't help..but is that Warfarin or premenopause?? thank god a new finger prick test has been developed which my lab uses majority of the time....saves my good veins!! I wish everyone well.....I am on Warfarin for life....but it is a life saver! vikib
