Hi, I'm a 35 year old, who is now on day 4 without the Mirena. I woke up on Monday morning with what I believe to be the dreaded "Mirena rash". I called my OB immediately and requested it be removed, much to my dismay, he was very rude about my suggesting that I was having these problems because of a silly little IUD. I told him that a friend of mine had led me to this website and he basically told me not to believe everything I read, even after I explained to him that thousands of women, experiencing the same side effects, with only one common denominator could not be wrong. He sarcastically said that he hoped removing my "little" Mirena would solve all of the worlds problems. So, in response to my complaint about this rash, he prescribed me Hydroxyzine which is an antihistamine. I take it religiously 4x a day. Mind you this was Monday, yesterday I ended up in the ER because I just couldn't stand the itch, and it was spreading. They put me on Prednisone, and still no relief. Does anyone have any ideas for me? This thing is like the plague. I work in a hospital and cannot go in looking the way I do with this rash all over my face and neck...
