Gabrilelle, I do not mean to scare you but the NuvaRing has the same type of combination (Ethinyl Estradiol+Progestin) combination synthetic hormones that Yaz contains. It isn't the brand that is the problem, but the combination of hormones. While on the ring I had many of the side-effects you describe, plus some. I was miserable. Finally, after suffering the side-effects for years I decided to go completely natural -- which doesn't mean NOT having reliable contraception, but a SAFE alternative. I now use a high tech fertility monitor called the Lady-Comp to track my cycle and determine when I am ovulating. On my fertile days my husband and I use either the Today Sponge (hormone-free) or a condom -- which frankly isn't so bad. At least I know I am not putting myself at risk of having a stroke, DVT or pulmonary embolism. My PMS symptoms are even lighter and last a fraction of the time they did on the ring. I have never felt better. I would recommend this to every woman I know. If you want more info, the U.S. company that sells the Lady-Comp is called Naturally For Her and they are wonderful. They gave me all the info I needed to make a fully informed decision about the LC and even walked me through the set up late one evening. I seriously recommend you give this a try. Nothing beats a natural approach to contraception.
