42 and taking Lipitor 40mg for 6 months. No other issues. 20 lbs overweight but also work out 4 times per week and feel to be in good shape. Lower back pain in middle of night that last until I get up out of bed and it started about a month after taking the Lipitor. If I get up, it goes away. Was so bad that I went and bought a sleep number bed thinking it was my old spring bed. Did not get better. Tried not taking the Lipitor for one night and the pain stopped. Took it again the next and it was back. Going to doctor to ask what is up?

This dangerous drug can cause MANY side effects. I suggest that you stop taking it permanently . . . before you have more problems. Don't let your dr. to con you. The drs. and the drug co's are doing a HUGE racket . . . it is all about big $$$. In reality, your mind/body needs cholesterol to function properly.

Before you go back to your doctor - and maybe let him convince you to take another statin - read for instance Anthony Colpo´s - The Great Cholesterol Con.

Also read as many statin-messages as you can - even for others such as Simvastatin (Zocor), Pravachol etc. All have similar side effects. The side effects can come at once, or after many years, when they often are diagnosed as something different with more medications as a result. Or - the patient is told that it`s just old age. Beware!

You need your cholesterol for many funcions - for your brain, hormones, immune system etc.
