Marley,
I have just been put on Lisinopril 20mg for my high BP. I've been on it for 3 days now and have started to notice some nagging side-effects. I was wondering if other people have had this problem, too. So I googled and found this site. I'm sure that there are are a disproportionate amount of disgruntled people (since most people don't bother to report that they are fine.) I've decided to give this medicine a couple of weeks and if there are no BP improvements, I'll tell my doctor to take me off. So far, I've had these side-effects: mild headaches all the time, a slight cough (always clearing my throat), heartburn. I can put up with these things if they don't get more severe and my BP drops to normal. BTW.. I'm a 53 year-old male in relatively good health with BP of 140/100. The BP has been creeping up over the last 5 years. I've been taking Atenolol 50mg for 2 years now which helped a little. I hope that you are feeling better now that you're off the Lisinopril. Please let us know what your doctor prescribed to replace it.
What dose are you taking? I had a problem with 10mg. so I cut back to 2.5mg. I still get the lousy adverse reactions. Will try anything now except for this drug. MY bp was 135/85 and the Doc wants it at 120/70. At 10mg I am a zombie with a headache, stomach ache, cough, tired, sleepy etc. John
