I had Mirena implanted about almost a year ago and I have had ZERO negative side effects. There was little pain during insertion and I have not had any cramps, headaches, mood swings, nausea, depression, NOTHING. This has been great for me. While I was on the pill, I experienced mood swings, headaches, acne, cramping and all the other "normal" things that come along with having hormones. If you are considering Mirena, please rest assured that it does the trick for some of us out there. Had I read these postings prior to insertion, I would have been scared to death. It has been great for me and it can be good for you, too if you are considering it.
