I am 36; just had the mirena iud put in last Thursday. It has been a week from hell. I've gained 9 pounds in one week. I am irritable, bitchy, cant sleep, in a hell of a lot of pain from cramping. I called my doctor after I had an emotional break down on Sunday and she told her I was in pain and the hormones were making my moods crazy. I don't feel like myself. I have turned into a road-raging bitch in one week since the IUD was put in. And the doctor leaves me a message saying that the hormone isn't in my blood stream yet so my outburst couldn't be attributed to the hormones in the IUD. BULL S***!!!! Every body is different. Please, does anyone have any advise and facts for me. I asked the doctor about what sort of risks etc and she just said, "we will discuss everything on the follow up visit on September 8"! Ugh....I can't wait until the 8th! I am losing my mind and the pain, lack of sleep it is causing, weight gain...Ugh. I feel like I should get this thing removed ASAP. Help.
