I had the Mirena inserted on April 2009, I have recently decided to have it removed because of the side effects since the Mirena - Weight gain, acne, mood swings, and swelling of the ankles and soreness of the foot. Without the insertion I had less bleeding, I spot for almost 3 weeks in which plays a role on my sex life. I don't know if this is related but diagnosed for low potassium level. I'm glad I found this website because I had no idea there were so many related cases. I'm calling my doctor today to have it removed.
