I had a severe reaction to levaquin in 2008. My symptoms included yours and several more. After 5K out of pocket, and 35K in insurance benefits were spent trying to cure what became a cronic condition, time has been the only real healer. I gave up on all but one doc in my community. My gastro doc had seen similar cases. All the rest tried to look for other causes. Most are totally IGNORANT about flouroquinolones and arrogant as well. I did a lot a research, found a great doc in CA and another in Utah that had been victums themselves and got some good info. But, the bottom line is that time is the only healer. You can treat your specific symptoms with some success, but your body has been damaged, the regeneration through time is all that really works. Ten months out from my exposure, I still have a few problems, but the crisis problems appear to be behind me at this point. One of the docs I encountered finally went back to work part time after two years disabled from this drug. Another Doc in GA was a total non-believer until his tendon ruptured in one leg 8 months after dosage. Word is getting out, but it is very slow and most docs don't want to admit that something THEY GAVE YOU caused a problem for fear of liability. If you get any validation, it is usually from docs down the line that had nothing to do with the treatment you were given the drug for. Please file a MEDWATCH with the FDA. It is the only way to get this drug restricted.
