Hello, Had the Mirena inserted last week, 6 weeks following the birth of my second baby. I chose Mirena because I wanted a long term solution and had bad side effects from oral contraceptives (vomiting everyday + headaches) Insertion was very painful, stabbing pain in my hip then difficulty walking for about 12 hours. the next day I realized my milk supply had gone down a lot, and I also developed a nasty headache that will not go away since then. Called the doc, getting it removed tomorrow...glad my insurance covered it but very annoyed I went through this. I have had to take Tylenol non stop for the headaches and fennugreek to try and get my milk supply up...hope the side effects disappear quickly. As far as contraceptive method, going back to condoms, unsure what to do next.
