I had Mirena inserted in June, 2008. I was miserable for the first 6 months with a swollen abdomen, sore breasts and pain when I sat a certain way. My periods have all but stopped happening, but in the last two weeks and since reading these blogs, I realize alot of what has occured to me over the last year and 1/2 is related to this device. I have had headaches, severe cramping (which I never had and I'm 42). Also reading your blog, I've had HUGE bruises or discoloration on my legs which came from no where and still after almost 4 months haven't completely gone away. I know each of us has different eating habits and lifestyles, but there are alot of common denominators on this site that can't be ignored. I've made an appointment to have mine removed. I currently believe mine has dislodged and is embedded as I'm experiencing severe cramping, breast soreness and again a swollen abdomen. I'm also going to take a pregnancy test today. Wouldn't that be something....42 and pregnant!! Whatever the case...I'll take my chances with mother nature. To heck with this device!!
