80 mg prescribed over 18mth period - shoulder pain began after one year - acute pain at night', diminishing rotational capability during the day. Second shoulder pain followed soon after with same symptoms. Feels as if the joint is becoming unstable and the moving skeletal components rubbing together and jarring.(clicks, clonks felt & heard) GP immediately took me off them and arranged physio. After two weeks without simvastatin there is no change/ relief in symptoms

Everyone is different . . . . .age, etc. . . . but, after taking a high dosage for awhile, it will take time to recover, hopefully, you will. Statins are dangerous drugs and can cause MANY side effects. Unfortunately, drs. and drug co's continue to push it . . . .it is all about big $$. In reality, your body/mind needs cholesterol to function properly. I suggest that you find another dr.

WOW! I feel so silly after reading all of your posts. I've been taking 20mg of Simvastatin for about 3 years and have been going to the chiropractor ever since. I've learned to deal with te shoulder, back and neck pain. Dr. says it's just stress. Speaking of stress, the depression and anxiety has been going on for that long too. I also take Lisinopril and Sigulair, both of them have a lot of mentions here about causing depression and fatigue. My body needs a reset! I'm currently on a quest to find more natural remedies to high cholesterol, high blood pressure and allergies without these drugs. I'm a 35 year old male, I eat healthy foods, don't smoke and exercise regularly. These drugs are the only foreign things I put in my body and I agree with you all that there is something very wrong with these drugs.
