I had mine inserted 10 weeks ago and I am having it removed this afternoon and I cant wait! My problems started on day 3 and have not stopped. I am 50 (had my tubes tied 20 years ago after 2 kids)and my gyno suggested Mirena as my periods are very very heavy and occur about every two and half weeks. My daughter (25 with 1 child) had hers inserted 2+ years ago and has not had 1 problem so thought I thought it might work - wow, was I wrong! I have had the constant feeling of just achey all over, headaches all the time,angel to devil in .0001 seconds, panic attacks (never had them before and NEVER want another one - very scary)sinus infections, high blood pressure (have always been 120/80 now I am 160/100) I just feel crappy all the time and unmotivated. I have never been like this and hope its all related to the Mirena as nothing else in my life has changed. Like other meds and procedures this is not for everyone so I would encourage people to listen to your body as well as your inner voice and take action to get your old self back. Honestly, as badly as I feel since getting my Mirena....having heavy periods every two and half weeks seem pretty minor in comparison!
