I was on Prednisone for 2 years starting at 50 mg a day and then tapering down to 10mg a day and then bouncing back and forth between 1-10 for the last 9 months or so. I gained 55 pounds, have cushings syndrome with the moon face and buffalo hump. I have fat pockets all around my neck. I had lipo suction on my stomach shortly after starting this drug (not because of being on it, it was scheduled before hand) so my stomach hasn't gotten too large but my butt and breasts are rediculous! Anyway, I managed to taper down to 1mg a day about two months ago and have been completely off of it for 10 days now. I've lost 16 pounds, in the last two months, most notibly in my face. The sweating isn't near as bad and I only have to have one fan on me a night. I have been experiencing increased joint and muscle pain and my doctor says thats because I'm detoxing and it's an unfortunate side effect of getting off of it but should go away. So, although I still have a long way to go to get back to how I was before, it is starting to work. So, hopefully since you were only on it for three weeks, youre recovery from it should be much less time but still expect a couple months before you get rid of all the side effects. Hope you feel like yourself soon! It's side effects are quite difficult to deal with.
