I am glad I found this site. I am 33 yrs old in March I had my 2nd child. I have medical conditions that I was told I wouldn't have children, but after 6 yrs of marriage I got pregnant with my first, I didn't think I could get pregnant again but after 6 more years I got pregnant again. So after I had my son in March my doctor and I decided due to the problems I had in both pregnancy's that it is not a good idea for me to have anymore so I decided to try Nuvaring, but it kept coming out so I decided on the Mirena as it lasts 5 yrs, and I have had previous issues with the pill. When I was pregnant with my son I had continuous bacteria infections but after I had him they went away. Since I have had the Mirena put in (July 09) I have had bad bacterial infections (which my OB says is because I am prone to them because I have had them a lot), extreme lower back pain, very bad gas pain, I am starting to have worse vision problems than before, cramps, I have not had discharge a whole 2 days since I have had the mirena and I get really bad chest pains that are in my sides and back too (acid reflux), and extreme exhaustion and lack of sex drive. Now reading here it seems like most of them are due to side effects from mirena. I had my pap smear done at the beginning of the month and it came back abnormal so I have to go get another procedure done to check if I have abnormal cells or if they have cleared up, but when I go I think I am going to get her to remove the Mirena because it shouldn't be this way. Now just to figure out a better BC method.

I had my IUD takin out yesterday....and I am so happy. I am ready to see the adjustments that my body is going to make. I feel better already and my doctor advise me to stay away from hormones for 6 months. I need advice on my next BC method.
