I've been using it for just over 2 years now and am finding the side effects are getting worse. For about a week before I remove the ring I am nauseous all of the time, get dizzy spells and my heart races. Wasn't sure if it was the ring but I am absolutely fine for the week without it - feel like a different person. I have tried the pill and mini-pill and would throw up ever morning and I tried a contraceptive implant and had a period every week. Think I will have to look at purely physical barriers as a method of contraception.
Hi There. I have been on the Nuva Ring for 2 years and I am 30 years old. I started experiencing Night sweats and Hot flashes about a year ago and although I thought it was a bit odd, I figured it was maybe just stress. Then I started experiencing really bad anxiety, sleeplessness, hair loss, moodiness breast tenderness and weight gain. Last week I went to the doctor and got him to test my hormone levels and my thyroid bc I knew something was wrong. Yesterday, I found out that my estrogen level is 41 points lower than its supposed to be. Essentially the Nuva ring has put me into premature ovarian failure or Early Menopause. Mydoctor is hopeful that it can be reversed, but I am still so upset that this has happened. Please find another form of contracetive, the convenience of not having to take a pill is not worth it.
