OMG! Thank you so much for this information. I started using Mirena in February (I am a 40 year old mother of 3) because I was looking for something long-term and hassle-free. Two months after insertion, I got really bad acne - for the first time ever! It finally went away about 3 months later. Then in June, I visited my family and they commented on how thin my hair had become. Now, in September, I can see straight through to my scalp and basically have a receding hairline! I was panicked! Then, I started thinking about changes in my exercise regimine, food intake, sleep habits etc. And then I finally thought... hmmmm... could it be Mirena? I googled and here is my answer. What a relief! I thought I had some sort of disease or premature baldness. I will switch birth control ASAP! Thank you, thank you for sharing your experience. Angela, NY
I truly believe me and you are having the same symptoms and will definetly do the same you are as far as trying paragard. Thanks for inlighting me
Hello there...I just wanted to let you know I became pregnant after 2 years with the Paraguard IUD in place. I THANK GOD have a healthy 10 year old son after this. I'm skeptical in using any birth control, really. After that scare, how could you not be? I went through my entire pregnancy with it in place because it was really close to my son, they thought if they removed it, it could hurt him in trying. I wish you luck in your decision making process. I'm re-thinking Mirena now too!! I haven't started it, yet...but now I'm freaked out by this site...but it's good to know now, before I started...thank you ladies and best of luck!
