I too have been experiencing the same side effects listed by most of you. I have also been seeing a gastroenterologist for about 9 months now because of stomach issues. All symptoms point to gallbladder disease but the tests come back normal. I called my gyne today and they seem unconcerned with what I have told them and advised me to continue to take my pills until my annual visit in October. I'm done with this pack on Saturday and am thinking of going sans pills for the next month until my appt. Any advice on what pill I should switch to when I do see my dr.?

I was on Yaz for a while, I guess it's a sister drug of Yasmin. Last winter I had stomach issues as you mentioned. It took a few Dr. Visits before we got any results. First blood test, normal, then I cam back to him complaining of same symptoms, full feeling, feel terrible and get massive pain occasionally just below my breast bone. Well, he finally sent me for a Sonogram, there it was...my gallstone! Had my gallbladder removed in April, it was a very simple surgery, you recover quickly. Get your sonogram, I am sure that is what you will have.
In the mean time stop eating any dairy, I found it really aggrivates the gallbladder symptoms. I just saw a commercial last week if you were on Yaz or Yasmin and have had gallbladder issues, we could get involved in a law suit. Can you belive this crap!!! I have been on BC pills for over 20 years and this is the first time I have had major problems. I am on Yasmin now(I have been changing to find a good one) and I am starting to have rad headaches. I would not have put it together with the pill but now that I have seen postings......hmmmm. This sucks!

Please, please take this advice. Don't trust the blood tests and the liver enzyme and hormone test results and let the doctor tell you there is no chance you have gallbladder disease and that you have IBS, or too much stress in your life, or whatever else "we don't really know so we're going to call it this" answer. Trust your instincts.

After 5 years of being misdiagnosed with gallbladder disease (which I just found out tonight was caused by Yasmin birth control), I had to research everything I could find about the digestive system, diagnose myself on WebMD, and march right into Urgent Care to demand an ULTRASOUND. The doctor told me that based on all my blood, urine, the works, test results there was a .5% chance I had gallstones. But I insisted he give me an ultrasound (which I had read is the only definitive way to tell if you have gallbladder disease) and sure enough my gallbladder was filled with stones and totally diseased. I was finally properly diagnosed, but had to wait 3 months to get a surgery appointment to have it removed. By the time I got this point though eating ANYTHING created 8 hours of pain afterwards.

So if you think you might have gallbladder disease, demand an ultrasound. And if you ever took Yaz or Yasmin, print out articles from the web about all the pending lawsuits and make him/her test you. You have to take your health into your own hands. Only YOU know your body. Trust your instincts, and be a pushy bitch to get the medical care you need.

That is my humble advice 11 months post my gallbladder surgery and five years before that of what turned out to be pharmaceutally caused pain, anxiety, embarrassment, and time lost. Best of luck to you! I hope you find the answers you are looking for.

Jenny
