Statins are dangerous drugs that can cause MANY side effects. Drs.. and the drug co's are doing a SCAM on the anti-cholesterol drugs. . . . it is all about big $$$. In reality, your mind/body needs cholesterol to function properly. . . DON'T LET YOUR DR. TO CON YOU.

I have horrible leg pain and weakness from this medication! I am discontinuing taking it today. I am 52 years old and walk like a 90 year old.

my dad as on a very low dose of this medication and when he stopped it, after doing a bunch of reading on it, his leg aches and pains started to subside. also, his rash. he's 85 so he had written these things off ot "old age" but they were, in fact, adverse affects of this unnecessary medication

I am freaking out because of this bad taste in my mouth also. I started the meds in May 2009, and probably became aware of the bad breath in July. Almost ammonia-like at times. And bad for social situations.

I called my pharmacist but they said it wasn't a common side effect, although it is the only thing different in my routine, and I have passed a physical exam and am in good shape otherwise.

I am a victim of this POISON . . . .I stopped taking this dangerous drug in 2-08 and I STILL have side effects . . .There is not space to tell you about what I have gone through . . . your concern for the "bad taste" . . . I have been off of this drug for 6 months because it raises my liver levels. I have to admit it lowers my cholesterol very well. After discontinuning.. my cholesterol jumped back up to 439..I am only 45 and about 20 lbs overweight, runs in the family, Anyway, i started taking it again about a month ago and I have this strange minty/menthol taste in my mouth, nose and eyes. I thought I was crazy!
I found a site...wrongdiagnosis.com, because I have been experiencing this taste in my mouth it was a concern. There was a post of someone with the same symptoms...minty mouth. They mentioned simvastatin and I thought I had my answer.
I have not seen anyone here with this side effect. Please post if anyone has experienced anything like this.
I would be very thankful.
