The weight gain is horrible and the headaches are happening daily. I feel really tired and achy all day and restless during sleep. I have Lyme disease and not sure if these symptoms are from the drug or from the disease itself but I'm pretty sure the weight gain is from water retention caused by the Doxycycline. I hope this will go away after my 21 days is up.

I was diagnosed with Lyme this summer and was on this drug for 3 weeks. It wasn't so bad for the first week, but my last 2 weeks were a nightmare. I didn't get sleep, had nasty headaches, I felt extremely anxious, etc. BUT, one thing I didn't get was weight gain. I actually lost 14 lbs in the week and half. I was ingesting a lot of calories as well. I drank over 1.5 gallons of water a day while on the drug too. Personally, I felt that the doxy induced 90% of my symptoms - well all of the symptoms except for the tingling in my arms and legs. I cut the drug and felt normal within a week - almost 100%. Once you're done with this drug - it will get better. I constantly thought that it was the lyme inducing all of these wicked symptoms - but I'm confident it was the doxy.

Just make it through your doxy run and you should be good to go =))

Good luck!!!!!!!!

I gained 9 pounds in four weeks of being on doxycycline. I know it has to be attributed to the doxy because I've been the same weight for several years. There's no other explanation for that dramatic of weight gain. I just hope it comes off as easily as it went on!

weight gains or weight loss is a sign of mal-absorption.
