I am taking 20-25mg of Lisinopril and have been for about 1 month. First, I have to say the stuff works - my blood pressure went down immediately. Recently I have noticed a dry bottom lip (neither water or chopstick helps) and I am drinking AT LEAST 12 glasses of water a day and still feel thirsty. Anyone have similar side effects?

I recently started lisinopril about 10 days ago and have been very fatigued with leg pain and neck pains and tender skin on my feet and legs. I recently stopped taking it and things seem to be getting better. 2 days off it and I feel better than I have in almost 2 weeks. Your symptoms sound a lot like diabetes. I was diagnosed with type 11 diabetes 2 months ago. I had a dry lip that peeled for 1 1/2 years and severe thirst that could not be quenched for 2 1/2 years. Water tasted better than any thing because it would at least for a few minutes make me feel less thirsty. other syptoms could include bouts of fatigue that seems to be better when you eat sweets, eye sight not as good, weight loss that is unexplained and sometimes unexplained weight gain. Feeling shaky sometimes, not able to think clearly sometimes, frequent urination. Most doctors will give you a break if you don't have insurance by paying cash on the spot. Get an A1c test done. My first visit and A1C test only cost me $105. Diabetes is the single worst disease facing americans today because it affects every system in the body. The good news is it can be controlled with (In order of most importance) 1- Exercise, 2- diet, 3- medication. There are some cheap meds with little side effects. I hope this helps. Please get checked for it because it truly is serious.
