I AM A 71 YEAR OLD MALE I HAVE BEEN ON LISINOPRIL FOR ALMOST A YEAR, THREE WEEKS AGO MY DOCTOR INCREASED MY DOSE FROM 10MG TO 20MG THREE DAYS AGO I STARTED TO GET LEG TINGLING AND CRAMPS, THEN I BROKE OUT ON MY UPPER LEG WITH SOME BRIGHT RED SPOTS ABOUT THE SIZE OF A HALF DOLLAR, THERE ARE SMALL BLACK SPOTS IN THEM AND THEY HURT LIKE RAW NERVE ENDS, IT IS VERY HARD TO WALK WITH THE PAIN OF MY PANT LEG RUBBING AND KILLING ME. ALSO MY WIFE IS YOUNGER THAN ME , SEX DRIVE WENT OUT THE WINDOW, I THINK THAT IS PROBABLY BECAUSE OF MY AGE. BEEN THERE DONE THAT. I AM GOING TO TRY TO GET OFF OF THAT STUFF TOO.

why did your doctor increase the dosage after a year? don't blame your lack of sex drive on your age. it's probably the drug

A year and a half ago, we opened a second office for our business (tax prep), and I developed this awful rash in my groin area. Doctors tried everything, and nothing worked. Rather similar to what you describe. At first I assumed it was ringworm, a fungus that's hard to get rid of. Then I wondered if I had somehow picked up herpes (I hadn't!). Finally, I blamed the new carpet in our office -- a cheap type, glued to the concrete. The office was a failure, and we consolidated back into a single main office with better materials. The rash went away. BUT, reading what I have here, and recalling the way my hair thinned in recent years (and weird scalp problems) it makes me wonder if the toxins coming off the carpet didn't ALSO interact with the Lisinopril. I say that because in years gone by I'd been around new glue-down carpets without problems.

Anyhow, I agree with the propsguy: don't blame your age. Although Lisinopril never seemed to affect my sex drive, it apparently can do that. Consider the drug guilty until proved innocent.
