Been on Yasmin for about 3 years suffered from Loss of Sex Drive, grumpiness, being nasty to my kids and husband, weight gain - I look like I have a beer belly, I run 2-3 times a week and watch what I eat, I walk and cycle still the weight gain. The last month I have had sore breasts - cant bear hardly to put on my bra, spotting, sharp pain in the right hand ovary (in that area), crying, depressed. My doc put me on antidepressants so i have been taking them over a year now. I am not going to take Yasmin anymore, I will keep you all informed how I get on. Cant believe all the same symptoms as mine.....thanks for sharing girls.

Hello Ladies, I have been off Yasmin for about 6 weeks now, I have put on weight unfortunatley but I have also been able to come off my antidepressents and I feel amazing, my skin has been fine and I have not had any soreness in my breasts. I did have a revelation, my sex drive has shot up its wonderful, I feel like a teenager...... I have been worried about the weight gain and with proper eating and excercise I have managed to loose a little bit but its hard work. I reasearched this a bit and I think its because my pituary gland (which is responsible for hormones) may have lost its way a bit and I was advised to go on Agnus Castus tincture - wow this has definately helped in the sex drive too. I have been looking on web sites to find out a bit more about the herb and it turns out that monks used to take it to dampen their sex drive and it has been known to increase sex drive in women. It has worked for me. Yasmin definately dampened my sex drive and that is why I went on to antidepressants.....my doctor thought that this would help....My doctor was wrong on this occasion. I have had one period since coming off yasmin and it was not too heavy and only lasted 4 days, I did not have too many cramps. I hope that this information helps you ladies. Some of the posts on here really did help me. By the way you can get agnus castus in any herbal shop....

Hi caroline:

I just wanted to mention that there is a site called the Yasmin Survivors Forum (if you type it into your search engine it will come up) where there are many women who have suffered the side effects of either Yasmin or Yaz who are willing to offer support and advice. Many of us, like you, have recently stopped taking it and have a network of support.

In the meantime, I wish you lots of luck and continued improved health.

Meagan
