I had Mirena implanted a week ago. The procedure was a little uncomfortable, but nowhere near as bad as what I expected. My doctor prescribed Citocek (?) to dilate my cervix. I took two the night before and two the morning of the procedure so maybe that's what helped so much. My doctor even commented on easy it was. I bled heavily for a couple hours after the procedure and had light spotting the next day, and have not had any more since then. But this morning I have very bad cramps and it feels like they're getting worse. I came online to see if other women still have cramping a week afterwards. Looks like a lot of you have had really bad side effects. I can only hope that this will pass and I'll love it like so many others, including the nurse that helped with the insertion!
