I have had a fantastic experience. I had some initial spotting for a few months, but since then have been without my period for 2+ years and I have had no mood swings, weight gain, moodiness or anything! It has been the best birth control device in my whole life (now in mid-40's) and I recommend it all my friends. Sorry to hear about others with side effects, but I felt I needed to share my experience, which has been fantastic.

I must be one of those rare people who have not had any problems, I have just seen my gyn to have my second device inserted. I have not had a period in over 41/2yrs and apart from slight spotting after the second one was inserted I have had no problems since. I would not like to go back to what I went through before Mirena!
