Until I started taking Topamax, I had VERY irregular periods. After I started taking Topamax, my periods have been like clockwork. So yes - I think it definitely effects menstrual cycles!! About the depression - I started it when my son was 6 months old and my migraines got to the point where I couldn't go on any longer. I did have major mood problems after starting it. It was AWFUL but I was also very depressed from my daily severe migraines so I stayed on the Topamax. It was about 4-5 months of torture but one day the cloud lifted and now I am normal. I also lost weight but that side effect also went away, along with the tingly feet and pop losing its carbonation. Recently I had to start taking the generic and it DOES NOT WORK FOR ME. Fortunately my doctor appealed to my insurance company and I am now back on brand name Topamax. There is a difference. There isn't supposed to be but there is. Wow. That was a long reply. Sorry!
I actualy had menstrual problems. I started taking the pill and on day 6 i started my mensrualy cycle and I shouldnt have, I was on day 8 of my birth control so I had just finished my cycle the week before. I wasnt sure if it was the meds or not until I stopped taking them yesterday and the bleeding has already stopped. So yes it does effect some of us! For me-I also experienced bad mood swings, pins in the heels of my feet and pop tasting nasting, and i only took it for 2 weeks!
