i am 24 no kids. i had my mirena inserted dec 08, i got it because i had been havign really bad mentsrual pain, heavy bleeds, and the price of yasmin is huge and it keeps going up (roughly $60 for two months). i had roughly one to two months of bleeding and weird mood swings. after that i had another period in may for 7 days, very light with no pain. i haven't had a period since may. for that i love it. no mood swings really. my sex drive which was always high, is out of control, kinda love it for that, kinda hate it too - my poor boyfriend. however, the acne is awful its worse than when i was 17. its really affected my self esteem. and the UTIs are constant and just horrible it stresses me out. i am a nurse and i cant keep running to the toilet every two mins. i seriously want to take it out. there are some good sides to it but the acne and utis are not worth the money that i am saving, and im worried that the constant uti's will have a permanent affect on my body. my advice to anyone that is considering a mirena is to just think about the pros and cons and weigh it up to your lifestyle. some poeple benefit with very little side effects. i am glad i tried it but unfortunately i dont think its for me.
