I have had Mirena put in Feb 09, so it has been 8 months and for 7months I have had a yeast infection that wont go away. It gets really bad the week before my period and the week after its not too bad. I have used OTC drugs and prescriptions. I have never had a YI before I had the mirena. I do believe it is the reason I have one, so I am going to get it removed. I have also been very tired and foggy feeling and never made that connection until reading all these posts.

I just had my Mirena removed last Friday and I am already feeling better emotionally and physically. I had the Mirena for almost 3 years and noticed within the last year recurrent yeast infections and odor that no medication could cure. My Doctor actually commented on my "nasty discharge" while removing it! I had been suffering with fatigue, horrible pms that seemed to never end which consisted of severe breast tenderness, an uncontrolable appetite, weird body pains, and a feeling of fullness and discomfort in my abdomen. I was also experiencing light periods that lasted upwards of 10 days, complete loss of my sex drive and general irritability, anxiety and moodiness. My Doctor questioned my choice to have it removed and didn't believe me when I informed him of the side-effects I was experiencing! All I can say is that I'm glad I finally listened to my body and put an end to my unnecessary suffering.
