Statins are dangerous drugs that cause many side effects. Drs. are doing a SCAM .. big $$ . In reality, your mind/body needs cholesterol to function. A cholesterol level of 105 is way TOO low. Don't let your dr. to con you.
A cholesterol of 105 is much too low and is a risk to your health and well being.
Understand that economics is the driving force behind the sales of these statins.
oh my god!!! 105??? it's a wonder you can function. stop taking it now! who cares what your physician says! take some fish oil to get some omega 3s. you need some cholesterol and a good quality fish oil (try Carlsons) will raise your HDL cholesterol
p.s.- your doctor will probably deny any connection with the drug and your pains. he/ she will say that aches and pains are "to be expected at your age" no matter what age that is.
if your doctor does acknowledge that it might be the drug, he/she will prescribe a different statin. don't be taken in by that scam- all statins are the same. if you have a bad respoense to one, you willl have the same responce to the others.
if you don't have heart disease, there is no need to get your cholesterol checked. the only reason to check cholesterol is to find it too high, according to drug company charts, so that drugs can be prescribed.
if you hadn't had your cholesterol checked, would you have ever known that it was "high?" how did you feel before? probably normal and fine. how do you feel now? horrible. what's a number compared to how you feel?
another p.s.- my 85 yr old father was on simvastatin. when he stopped taking it (after reading bad things about statins) he noticed that some nagging pains in his legs went away and a weird rash cleared up. at 85, he didn't attribute aches and pains to medication and the rash was just a mystery. now he knows better
