ok, so I am 28yrs old just had my lap for endo on October 1 and my doctor has recommended lupron, and am going to be getting the med in a week to 2weeks,but after reading this I am soooooooooo scared to even get near this med. Its like you either take this with the hope of saving fertility and no pain..or not and have endo ravage your body and you will live with unbearable pain!!! I have no idea what to do,and i am so scared after reading this. Is there anyone that did not have weight gain, headaches etc...anyone that can testify that lupron actually worked for them? did any one have a baby after doing this. my bigs thing is being able to have a baby. Cause right now its my health on the line, my ability to have children, my ability to have a normal life free of endo pain or these crazy, horrible side effects...please help me!!!

Hi! I guess for some people the side affects are different. Back in 2006 I was 25yrs old and I had the Lapro surgery and soon after started the treatments with Lupron. My doctor told me that I possibly could not have children but I did. I took 3 one month doese at first, followed by the 3 month shot, for a total of 6months treatment. After that my period wouldnt come down, so I waited the two months they said to wait and soon after I went to the doctor. They gave me a pill to bring down my period and boy did it come. I can't really remember but after 2-3 period cycles I was able to conceive. Now recently my endo returned and once again had lapro done in Aug and now I am on Lupron. My advice is to take the first 3 doses as a a month shot, then the last 3 month or more if needed you should take the 3 month dose. I think this is better that way your body can slowly tolerate the Lupron shot. My memory of the Lupron shot was hot flashes, headaches, and mood swings. But these are all tolerable and not so bad. Now we are planning on having another baby after this round of treatments. Believe me going through labor is harder then go through all these surgeries and treatments. Then the joy of having a baby is all worth it. My experience was not bad compared to most people.

Hi Jadejean,
I agree with some of the other folks that you'll never know how this thing will affect you until you have it done yourself. BUT i will tell you that i am also 28, had my second Operative Laparoscopy in 2007 for Endometriosis (six years after my first), and recently did four Lupron injections. The injections were fine, and i did not have a period for the whole time. I was actually supposed to have 6 shots, but my side effects actually became so chronic we had to stop. There was diarrhea, hot flashes, NO sex drive, yeast infections, nausea. I was hospitalized 3 times for the diarrhea and nausea. It was awful and i vowed i would never again mess with that sort of treatment. Right now i'm just praying for my period to come so that my headaches will stop. I'll take Endometriosis pain any day over those side effects. So be cautious, and no matter what you do, educate yourself about all the possible side effcts, so you can identify them if you're having them. That was my biggest mistake.

If u are ready at this time to have a baby my advice is to have ur baby within the 1st yr of having surgery. Go to fertility clinic. I had endo nd cyst surgery in 2005 and my entire pelvic cavity was filled with adhesions and every organ was adhered to one another. They had to take rt ovary nd tube. Fiance nd I knew if ever wanted to have baby had to do it right then nd there. got on clomid nd tracked my cycle nd temp on calendar. within 8 months was pregnant with my miracle son. Since then I have pelvic tenderness and severe rt side SI joint back pain since has almost been 2yrs. quality of life is almost 0 nd can't work. They now want to do lupron and after what I am reading am not sure I want to.. I hate the answers we all get in regards to adhesions nd endo what are we supposed to do...Please as this person said if any1 has had success with lupron please speak up. I want exploratory surgery to take a look at the severity but my doc thinks it will do more possible harm then good...:(
