Hi rinlawrence:
While everyone's experience is different, there are many women who have experienced gallbladder disease from taking Yasmin and Yaz. Many women are not informed of the numerous and terrible side effects of this pill- I am one of them.
If you'd like, you can do further research on this pill, and visit the "Yasmin Survivors Forum". If you type it into your search engine, it will come up in the results. There, you will find many women who experienced the same problems that you did. There are women there to offer advice and support. In the meantime, I wish you the best of luck and good health.

I was taking yasmin for about a year as treatment for pcos. I was miserable during that time, but thought it was because of another medication I was taking. During the time that I was taking this I started having severe pains on my right side. After being in pain for about 20 hours i finally decided to go to the hospital where they did an ultrasound and said my gallbladder was swollen. After that I had no problems until I became pregnant. I suffered with the pain throughout my entire pregnancy. Seven weeks after I had my daughter I was back in the E.R. being scheduled for surgery. I never attributed any of this to the medication because my mom had to have her gallbladder removed when she was about the same age. Flash forward 4 years and now I am hearing about all the side effects and now the doctor wants to put me back on the medication to try to help us conceive again. Now the medication is waiting because I am not sure what to do. If the symptoms are only minor it is worth it to have another baby. I really can't decide what to do.
