I am 32 years old and began taking Yasmin in 2002. I get SEVERE migraines every month and have gained 50 pounds. I want to get off Yasmin but am scared of getting pregnant. I'm married, but we just cannot afford a child right now. Any advice? Has anyone recently quit Yasmin and had any bad side effects from it?

Hi, I am 29 yrs old and stopped taking yaz over 2 months ago, I was taking Yazmin before for 7 months and was switch to Yaz by my Dr. After one month of taking it I knew I had to stop, and it took a while for my body to adjust to be normal again, weird cycles and headaches and mood swings, I wanted to kill everybody LOL... the good news are that I started using a condom and got one of those spermicide foams they sell at the farmacies, I agree with you, I dont want to get pregnant and we cant afford it either, BUT, nothing compares to the risk you are under while taking those pills and gaining weight, weight that brings a lot other illnesses to the menu. I gained 35 lbs in 8 months... sad. I'm working on it though, and if there is no condom, there is no sex. My husband understands what it did to me and he doesn't want me to take it again, at least not now. You should talk to your husband and take a better care of your self and lose that weight. I still have side effects, my urine stinks, BAD!!! I have to drink tons of water during the day to make it less thick. I have not been to the Dr. yet but that is next on the list. I hope this helps =)
