Hi Amanda, My name is Jessica and all the other birthcontrol i have used made me feel the same way, my boyfriend of 6yrs and i almost split up because he was sooo mad that i didn't want to have sex,. I never though about it or wanted to but not because of him, I just didn't want to, i was never in the mood. I thought all this was the birthcontrol. so i stoped. the last one i was on was the depo shot. my boyfriend said the same thing your's said. i just got on the mirena this past friday and the cramps are very wierd, they come and go, and hurt bad but they don't feel regular cramps. i still dont want to have sex with my boyfriend don't think about it or anything. Right now i think i'm going to give it at least a month before i switch to anything else or decide if i should. And believe me i understand the sex drive thing, it sucks, im 22 and this is been going on for a while now.

I am 24, I have 2 kids, and have been married for 5 1/2 years. I have always had a very strong sex drive, even more so than my husband. I know, weird right? Anyway, as soon as I got the Mirena put in my sex drive totally disappeared. I also had every side effect that everyone else has mentioned. I had it removed only 4 weeks after insertion.
