I'm only on 10mg Simvastatin and 10mg Lisinopril. I have type 1 diabetes and a minor TBI from a heat stroke. If I stop taking these then after a day or two I will start feeling barely controllable fits of rage. Sometimes I still get angry but for some reason the lisinopril and Simvastatin seem to ease it. I also have hypogonadism. I like my combo of simvastatin and lisinopril in the morning with my 20mg adderall. Little bit of redness on face but the benefits seem to outweigh.

Statins are a dangerous drug that cause MANY side effects. The drs. and the drug co's are doing a SCAM with the ant-cholesterol drugs . . . .it is all about big $$$ . In reality, your mind/body needs cholesterol to function properly. . . DON'T LET YOUR DR.TO CON YOU TO TAKE ALL THESE DRUGS WITH THE SIDE EFFECTS. Most drs. are drug-happy . . .there are many natural products/alternatives for health issues . . . . instead of taking drugs.

It took almost 2 years after stopping statins and lisinopril before my horrible out of character anger settled down. I still don't laugh as much as I used to but I am a lot calmer. The redness in my face went after about 9 months. Do you learn to live with it or love living?

That can be an interesting theory if my anger withdrawal is caused by simvastin withdrawal. I'd like to maybe experiment and go off them again when I run out but I'd hate to have another episode of unexplained numbness or hemiparesis.

joezen777 . . . this is NOT an "interesting theory" . . .Me, and "oldcarpet cleaner " are victims from taking statins and high blood pressure drugs . . .why do "experiment" on dangerous drugs? ! You can read MANY posts about these drugs. WAKE UP !!!

It was after ceasing the medicines that 80% of my symptoms got a lot worse. I knew it was the medicine because before ceasing I was taking it every second day and that day was far more painful than the other. Statins have a NNT factor number needed to treat of 100 for 3.6 years ie 100 people have to take it for 3.6 yrs for 1 person to benifet it's not even a lotto. In the American journal of cardiology Aug 2009 a trial of fish oil supplements had a NNT of 54 over 4 years. It's a no brainer journal of cardiology verse profiteering genocidal mongrel pharma. Check the blood pressure articles on spacedoc dot net. Before BP pills acceptable blood pressure was 100 plus your age. If you take a walk around the cemetry you'll find heaps of people who lived to 90 + before poisonus pills were invented. Now these mongrels try to have a 80 yr old have the same cholestrol and BP as a 20 yr old athlete, again it's a no brainer. When you are thinking withdrawals think alcoholics, drug addicts, anorexics, none of them come right the week after ceasing. Whats the difference? The other thing I did was buy own blood pressure meter, taking my BP at rest in bed in the morning I actually had low blood pressure and these clowns had me on 3 different bp meds, no wonder I was freezing, aching pains etc. I hope this helps you find confidence in your decisions as thousands of us know it is a scary path. Good luck.
