I am so glad I am not crazy and all alone. I've had my Mirena since January for perimenopause and was still getting my period every month until this month. No I have such cramping, joint pain I can barely walk and my lower back is killing me. I am scheduled for a hysterectomy this Wednesday, I CAN'T WAIT, I'll be done forever.

I also had it put in for perimenopause...I made it one month and then showed up at the doctor's clinic and demanded it be removed. I was gaining weight, losing all libido and the bleeding and cramping/low backache was intolerable. I just want you to know that I support you getting it taken out...I am reading some wonderful stuff about how to manage my changing body as I slowly move to complete menopause (I am 48) and will never again consider hormone replacement. Be prepared for the doctors to ignore your complaints as "in your head" and just insist on removal. Good luck...I am already starting to feel better - it has been five days since I got that thing taken out of me!!!
