"Severe infection, miscarriage, premature delivery and even death can occur with pregnancies that continue with an intrauterine device (IUD). Because of this, your healthcare provider may try to remove Mirena, even though removing it may cause a miscarriage. If Mirena cannot be removed, talk with your healthcare provider about the benefits and risks of continuing the pregnancy."
The chances of getting pregnant with a Mirena still inserted are about 2 in 1000 Mirena users. If you are one of those unlucky ladies the baby probably will not survive because of the Mirena. In my opinion, that is kind of like abortion because the product does what it says it does. It stops you from having another baby.
As I mentioned in my previous post, my little sister was one of the unlucky two out of a thousand to get pregnant with the Mirena. Because of that and all of the fear of what will happen to the baby and my sister, I will never use this product. When a product like this deals with life and death, the best way in my opinion is just to avoid it all together.
