I had a cortisone injection in my shoulder 9 days ago. The next day I started to feel dizzy/lightheaded, and it continues. It gets worse with any kind of physical activity. After therapy on the third day after the shot I was very dizzy, could barely walk straight. The nurse at the orthopedist, and at my primary physician office say it is not due to cortisone, but I am sure that it is. I checked my blood pressure at the drug store, it looks normal (113/67).
All of these drugs can cause side effects . . .better to use natural products/alternatives. Unfortunately, most drs. are drug-happy, since that's all they know.
An injection to the spinal area can cause a slight drop in cerebral spinal fluid which will give you a spinal headache. Many women experience this after an epidural with childbirth. Usually a blood patch to seal the leak is performed and the head aches, dizziness and nausea are releived. I had a lumbar puncture several years ago and they removed 7 vials of CSF, it took me 10 days to recover on my own. I couldn't even walk upright, I had to crawl on keep my head level with my spine. It takes the body a very long time to replace the loss of fluid without medical intervention. I hope that your condition has improved and you are feeling better!
